The Real Story on Pricey Oil
Fareed Zakaria doesn't mince words in his latest article titled "The Real Story on Pricey Oil". It mentions how oil consumption in Japan and Europe has been flat since the mid-1970s, while in the US it has doubled. All of this is directly tied to the rise of SUVs, with little of it having to do with the rise of India or China (who are only working for the US anyway). It also briefly dissects the politics of the countries currently being deluged with petrodollars.

I'm ok with individuals choosing to drive 'hummers'. I just don't like laws and policy that subsidize these things. It seems odd that the US government policy is one of consuming and importing more energy, not less.
