Karl Rove gets a freebie
First, let me apologize for my recent absenteeism...just started a new position here with The Company which entailed a move of office, a lot more work, etc.
Stunningly, Karl Rove will face no indictments over selling out a CIA operative just because dub didn't like her husband. Was there ever any doubt he would get out of this unscathed? the answer is "no".

The US is in an unpopular war, with an unpopular President. The economy is tanking (see the recent stock market slide for evidence) and the price of oil has tripled for no particular reason.
Is it 1972 again?
I guess that's what you get when you put a bunchof ex-Nixonites back in the White House. The Bush presidency mirrors the Nixon one so much it seems uncanny.

I disagree. The Nixon Administration has some (repeat: some) redeeming qualities.

It has been pointed out that Nixon would be considered a Liberal in today's America. I recall John Mitchell (anyone remember that crooked bastard?) saying "This country will swing so far to the right you won't even recoginze it". It has. And I don't.
