Not so honorable anymore
You're a researcher, Dr. Morphy-Godchaux. What's your opinion on this story that makes allegations of impropriety in Chinese academic research?

This is what I have heard. It was best explained to me that the Chinese currently don't believe in protections for intellectual property. This is mostly because they have no real native intellectual property to protect. If you are willing to take the 3 - 5 year lag, it's much better to steal or buy technology. I;ve heard that this is the ony thing that kept the Soviets going for many years. They certainly never had a commanding lead in any commercial technology this side of Kalishinikovs.
