I didn't know the modern history of Dixie Beer, or that Katrina had put at least a temporary end to it. Another sad story, post-Katrina.

Couple Vows to Get Beer Flowing Again in 'Dixie'

When I was a kid I thought my grandfather worked at Dixie Beer he drank so much of it. What confused me even more was that he actually worked in an auto glass shop across the street, so everytime we drove past the brewery, there was talk of where he worked.

Dixie is indeed currently out of commission. Was in town for 2 weddings in the past month and went to Mesparo's for their hot muffelatta sandwich and a Dixie only to have seen it scratched off the menu with an ink pen (which is why you could STILL see the word).
